A mysterious land full of charm and tales in the eyes of historians – BINTULU, is a small village in the Borneo Island, formerly known as “The Home of Fishermen”. TAI HUA SHOP was originally founded at its corner place, unknown to the public, operated as a family retailer.
The forerunners with the prophetic vision that selling “the scrap copper and rotten tile” were indeed good-for-nothing in the future. On March 11, 1969, unanimously decided to restructure this small shop into a private limited company, with a foresight in profit sharing, enhancement in capital investment and business scope as well as formation of Board of Directors. The parent company named TAI HUA HARDWARE SDN. BHD. was dealing in construction materials and forestry equipments. At the beginning of year 1976, a bold decision was made by the management to change its traditional conservative business style by bringing in more advanced products - outboard motors and gasoline chainsaws to the local market. In March 1976, the company opened a new branch office in SIBU – a town where people called it “Small Fuzhou”in Sarawak State, East Malaysia. It serves as a bridgehead through which the company continues to extend its footsteps by opening new branches, subsidiaries, associated companies in major cities of Malaysia.
